Use Malony to make the Korean dish "japchae."
Since no special seasonings are used, the recipe is surprisingly easy.
Ingredients (2 servings)
50g/1.8oz Malony |
80g/2.8oz beef for grilling (thinly sliced) |
1/4 onion |
20g/0.7oz carrot |
1/2 green pepper |
1/4 of each of a red and yellow pepper |
1 dried Shiitake mushroom (soaked in water until fully expanded) |
1/2 dried black fungus (soaked in water until fully expanded) |
1 tablespoon sesame oil |
<A> |
5g/0.2oz ginger (minced) |
1/2 piece garlic (minced) |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1/2 tablespoon Japanese sake |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 teaspoons sesame oil |
Directions
1. | Boil Malony for 3 to 4 minutes, rinse it with water, and drain off the water well. |
2. | Cut the beef into bite-size pieces and dress it in <A>. |
3. | Cut the vegetables into 2mm/0.08in wide strips. |
4. | Fry the beef with half of the sesame oil, add Malony and continue to fry them together, and remove from the pan. |
5. | Pour the remaining sesame oil into the pan and fry the vegetables. When the vegetables become tender, return the mixture from step 4 into the pan and fry them lightly. |
Sprinkle with "Ichimi Togarashi" or cayenne pepper powder to give it an adult taste!
